Finding the right camp chair makes your camping trip that much better. Sitting back and enjoying nature, talking with friends, or enjoying a campfire is difficult in an uncomfortable chair. But the right chair allows you to enjoy your camping trip.

The Kijaro Dual Lock camp chair is an excellent choice and has served me well in the 18 months I’ve used it, mostly at Ohio parks. This chair has a lot going for it. The dual lock system, size, stability, no-sag seat, and even the color schemes available make this a good camping chair choice.

Dual Lock System

The dual lock system on the Kijaro chair refers to the fact that the chair locks into place when you open it (so you do not cave into the chair) and it also locks when you fold it back up to make for easy transport. This feature adds stability and ease of use of the camp chair. Once locked into place, the chair is very stable, and this allows for a weight capacity of 300 pounds.

Size

The size of the Kijaro chair is about 46 inches tall when it is closed up and in its bag. This is taller than many chairs that I am familiar with. When opened up and locked into place, the chair measures roughly 36 inches tall and wide with a 26 inch depth. This seems a little bit bigger than many other chairs, but I think this helps add to the stability of the chair, which is really a defining factor.

Pros and Cons

There are mostly just positive things to say about the Kijaro Dual Lock camp chair. The dual lock system gives really good stability to the chair. You can rest assured knowing that the chair will not fold in on you or open up wide while you are moving it to a new spot. The chair is an especially good choice for those who wish to have a firm seat. The Kijaro is comfortable, but it does not “give” as much as many camp chairs when you sit in it. This also makes it much easier to get in and out of.

Really the only drawback that I have noticed with the Kijaro chair is its size compared to other chairs I have used. It is a little bit heavier than other chairs as well. This can make packing and carrying it a little more difficult, but I think it is well worth it.

The Kijaro Dual Lock chair is a good one. I’ve encouraged several people to give this chair a try, and most have ended up buying their own. It definitely makes for a comfortable night around the fire.
