Salt Fork State Park

Salt Fort State Park in Lore City is Ohio’s largest state park. Over 17,000 acres provide park visitors with plenty of room for camping, hiking, even hunting. The nearly 3,000 additional acres of water give opportunities for fishing, swimming, boating, and other water activities.
On Land Activities
Hiking
Fourteen hiking trails at Salt Fork State Park give hikers plenty of chances to see the sites of area nature. Most are considered easy to moderate trails. They range in length from one-tenth of a mile to two miles long. In addition, a snowmobile trail and bridle trail are available.

Hunting
Some areas of Salt Fork provide visitors with the chance to hunt. Make sure to get a valid Ohio hunting license prior to coming. Rabbit, squirrel, deer, wild turkey, and beavers call the park home.
Golf
Salt Fork has an eighteen-hole golf course that includes a driving range. Having a tee time reservation is a good idea and can be made here.
On Water Activities
Boating
The almost 3,000 acre Salt Fork Reservoir allows for boats for fishing, skiing, and pleasure. Currently, ten boat ramps provide plenty of opportunity to get your boat on the water. There are also two marinas for housing your boat and/or renting items.
Fishing
Several fish species call Salt Fork Reservoir home, including bluegill, bass, crappie, and and walleye. As with any of Ohio’s state parks, Salt Fork State Park requires you to have a valid Ohio fishing license.
Swimming
Salt Fork has a 2,500 foot beach for patrons. Furthermore, two picnic shelters are available for reservation. This could be the location of your next party!
In addition, a one acre dog park provides canines with lake access.
